Rep. Mary Peltola’s husband dies after plane crash in Alaska

U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola’s husband, Eugene “Buzzy” Peltola Jr.,

died early Wednesday morning after a plane crash in Alaska, according to a statement from her office.

Mary Peltola is returning home to be with their family,

according to the statement.

Few additional details were immediately available.

The only aviation fatality in Alaska reported

Wednesday involved a Piper PA-18-150 Super

Cub that crashed under unknown circumstances near St.

Mary’s, a village in Western Alaska, according to a

Federal Aviation Administration database of online reports.

National Transportation Safety Board spokeswoman Sarah Sulick said the pilot o

f that plane flew a hunter to a “remote location” about 64 miles from St. Mary’s.
